When I began my spiritual development in January 2019, I think I googled the heck out of the internet trying to understand what grounding is. It wasn't meant for me to find out from the internets so everything worked out. However, if you're finding this video, THIS right here is meant to be.
Hi, my name is Krisell Valenzuela. I’m the multi-dimensional medium, Akashic Records reader, energy healer, and spiritual development coach behind www.krisellcan.com. So today, I want to talk to you about grounding. What does grounding mean? What are grounding practices that you can take on? I started off my practice of grounding, in psychic development in general, using meditation as a form of grounding. As I’ve gone on my development journey, what I’ve realized and what it really took is understanding: what is grounding? Grounding practices can be anything because grounding is having an understanding, basis or foundation in who you are, where you are, what you came here to do. So at the core of it, its being rooted. It is knowing your environment. Let’s dig into that a little more. How to ground is about rooting yourself and having a foundation in something. I think if you look it up in Merriam Webster grounding says it’s having a basis in something. And so you can be grounding in many different experiences. And so your practice could evolve or be a chameleon for whatever that situation is. Some of the really common grounding practices, I started off doing meditation and a simple grounding meditation is to visualize roots growing from your body into the earth helping you anchor yourself into this earthly experience. And that is really helpful, especially when you are getting astral (astral traveling to other dimensions). Because you came into this 3D existence with purpose. Regardless of how many dimensions you go into, it’s important to know that hey! we are here, right here, right now in this dimension with a purpose. Other grounding practices could be earthing. Whether it be gardening, hugging a tree, or being barefoot on the earth. I like to think of other grounding experiences in terms of what helps me feel and connect into being human here on earth. Exercising is really helpful. Eating. (laughs) I don’t know about you but, I often have days where I forget to eat my meals. And so, making sure that I’m eating my meals and not spreading them too far apart. To take care of my human responsibilities, whether it be to pay my bills. Call customer service and take care of whatever nonsensical human issue I have to take care of. Some people like to use their divination tools to help ground them. It really is up to you and depending on who you are. I challenge you, instead of jumping into any of these practices that I do and seeing how it works for you, I challenge you to think about what reminds you that you are human and that reminds you, you are physical. Think about what helps you feel grounded and anchored. And so whether that be hugging someone, spending time with fam and friends, or being outside and laying in the grass and staring at the sky. I challenge you to think of experiences that you can turn into rituals. I think that is so much more powerful than looking up a list and trying what someone else tells you to do. At the end of the day, you need to have a practice that you can do on a daily basis because grounding is a daily, it’s a daily ritual. It is a daily self-care practice. Slow the f*ck down.
Right now. When I took my month long break from my secure job, the biggest takeaway was how hard I was driving myself. I realized I wasn't giving my best energy to the things most important to me and it pushed me to examine how I was prioritizing my life. Why am I pushing myself so hard? Why aren't I savoring the things I treasure? What is the root cause of these beliefs? Scarcity mindset. I had Broadway's Hamilton playing over and over in my head. How do you write like you're running out of time? Write day and night like you're running out of time? Everyday you fight like you're running out of time Like you're running out of time Are you running out of time? How do you write like tomorrow won't arrive? How do you write like you need it to survive? How do you write every second you're alive? Every second you're alive? Every second you're alive? Initially, I thought I needed to burn the energy and that I needed to let the inspiration flow. Damn, I was wrong. If you haven't watched Hamilton happily dozens of times, I will throw you a bone and tell you that there is another song "You'll never be satisfied" that also spoke to me. It's time to be present. In the moment. Time to realize that everything I love is already in my possession. Stop chasing the dream and allow myself to enjoy the dream I'm living. Do you relate? What dream are you chasing? I recorded a grounding meditation to share. If you're feeling stressed, anxious, overwhelmed, or even fatigued, try this meditation! I had a teacher share this meditation with me. It was the first time I tried a meditation and I got it. You see, I was like most people, struggling to sit in silence. That was until I realized you don't need to sit in silence to achieve balance. Sometimes balance needs some level of engagement. I view meditation as a process of clearing out your internal and external environment so that there is enough clarity to fully see yourself. How you get there is unique to you because you are wonderfully unique. When my teacher first shared this meditation, I was at the beginning of my conscious spiritual awakening. She said, do this meditation twice daily and it will change your life! I was skeptical though it didn't stop me from trying. A profile of mmt life at the time:
I took life by the reins and shifted my perspective. I feel like I know myself better than I ever have before. It's more than that, I feel like I fully know myself. Use this affirmation, and reiki principle, to help ground yourself. Your mind is powerful enough to make you calm, even when you think your surroundings are chaos. Please know that this is for you, not to you. You can choose to continue the path or take a different one. My grandpa passed away 2 Sundays ago. I believe he was preparing me for it. Preparing me so that I could be there for my family and then some during these already difficult times. More than 6 months ago, he would come through for me in readings. Back then, he was ok. He wasn't hospitalized. I didn't see this coming. If it weren't for these visits from him, I would've been totally surprised. He was testing the waters between physical and spiritual existence for months now. But he was also helping me in his passing. Helping me transform. Helping me fully embody my beliefs. When I left the hospital, I left angry, disappointed, and frustrated. We were told my grandpa didn't have much time left and to come see him. When we got there, I can't tell you how many empty scripted responses we received. Where is the humanity in that? We aren't robots, we have feelings and they're there for a reason. How do you know when to take action and when to pause? How do you know when something is right for you? Not right for your neighbor but right for you? Every single one of us has intuition and it is subtle. If your higher self has to make fireworks to get your attention, you aren't paying attention. Intuition reaches you with tiny tingles in your body, faint sounds that make you question it really happened, and in your dreams. Sometimes it comes through as you just having a feeling that you know something. Pay attention to it.
