Mama had her a meltdown!

I realize we have so much happening with the planetary alignments that are alchemizing exponential transformation as we move into 200 years of a new element: air. This meltdown was days in the making. I put myself through several things (whew, energy cleanse! aka enema for the soul) that helped surface the energy that manifested as a meltdown.

Yes, I gotta have grace for myself. Believe me, I’m the first person to recognize that.
Yes, I know this is all in the end good. I’m usually one of the more optimistic people you’ll ever meet.

But don’t get it twisted, I feel the full range of my emotions. I need it.

My emotions ground me.
My emotions remind me how human I am.
My emotions keep me honest with myself. (How dare I say I’m cool when I’m feeling so incredibly meh and underwhelmed on the inside!)

I share this because there are so many out there in the spiritual community that hook onto light and love as the only way.

Yo….your shadow gives you depth and greater self-awareness.

Let yourself feel all the feels, even the ones that break you down to tears. I am a better person for my tears. I have a stronger relationship with myself for honoring my energy and letting her do what she does best.

Have you ever spent time in your garden, at a park, or on a nature trail and felt like you weren't alone? It could be an animal or it could be a nature spirit. 

As animists, pre-colonial Filipino spiritual traditions were that all things have a spirit. As a child, I was taught to tread lightly through the yard and to say "tabi tabi po" or "excuse me" in Tagalog. Whenever I am hiking or camping, I am extremely sensitive to the fact that I am trespassing on someone else's home. This is likely from being taught at a young age this practice of saying excuse me while I walk through nature. It was only a few years ago that I was terrified of all things non-physical. My canon was all ghosts, hauntings, and spooky. 

This practice of saying "tabi tabi po" was taught to me as a way to be among the nature spirits with respect and reverence for their own existence. It gives them a heads up that you're coming through so that they can find safe coverage. It is believed that if you cause harm to a nature spirit, it could seek revenge on you. After all, nature spirits feel emotions just like us including anger and fear. As a child, my elders must've left out the respect and reverence part of the explanation. It was the fear or retaliation that had me saying excuse me. 

Have no fear. If we allow unconditional love to guide us and be our flashlight, we can trust that everything happens as divinely planned. I grew up with my paternal grandparents living 5 minutes away from me. Coincidentally, or not, I now live in between the home they lived in and the home I grew up in. While I spent a lot of time at their house, I can't say I knew much about my grandparents as people.

I remember spending afternoons at my grandparents' house. Most of the time, my grandma had her sewing or embroidery machine out. She was always crafting something whether it be sewn, embroidered, knitted, or crocheted. My grandma was a Filipina Martha Stewart always creating things. One time she took a heather grey sweatshirt and embroidered a fluffy teddy bear onto it. I wore that sweatshirt until the cuffs frayed.

When she passed away, I remembered so fondly sitting on her kitchen counter top as we made pancakes together, me tossing gummy bears into the batter. Compared to the memories of my maternal grandma, which are none because she died before I was born, I have this wealth of experience with my paternal grandma yet I feel heavier regret for not knowing her more fully as a person. For not asking her more questions and getting to know who she was and how she came to be. Yes, she could've resisted my questions as so many adults do to youth. But I never even gave her the opportunity to deny me.

Getting in touch with my spiritual self and embracing my psychic abilities, I didn't expect anything. I approached it with curiosity for the peace of mind it offered but never consciously understood what I was getting myself into. Here I am, almost 2 years later, and it is reconnecting me with my grandma to finally know her in a way that I thought wasn't possible. I allowed myself to flow with her guidance.

While I've read books and taken courses on many topics, lately I've been finding myself dropping or not completing them because I don't feel connected to the process. I've been allowing my intuition to guide me to what is most significant to me. I wouldn't have been able to do it if I was the same scaredy cat I was 3 years ago. I would've been to scared to find that I always held the key to my success: meeeeee.

On Sunday November 1, All Saints Day in Christian-Filipino culture, I taught Connecting and Working With Your Spirit Guides. A class connecting you with your energetic board of directors, helping you return to your native guidance system.

Connecting with my spirituality, was a transformative process for me. Knowing that I have this dream team of supporters gave me confidence to take on all of the life experiences that normally would've made me feel unworthy and inferior. Working with my spirit guides helped me shift my mindset so that I could show up as my whole self.

Following the class, I had a dream in my happy place. All of my ancestors that I knew in this lifetime were there. They gathered around me, holding me, supporting me as I cried. I cried tears of relief and healing knowing that I am living my purpose.
